Lit a candle in memory of Sharon Margaret Anderson
Over a span of nearly 50 years, I had the good fortune to know Sharon as a supervisor, as a colleague, and as a friend. I admired so much her personal integrity and generous spirit, as well as her humane approach to supervision. She had vast knowledge of (and an unquenchable interest in) government affairs. She loved to talk about current public policy issues and political events. She was one of the early pioneers of the UCSD library, establishing its government documents section. To Bill and her nephews: IĆ¢??m so sorry for your loss, but I am so glad I had the opportunity to know Sharon so well for so many decades. She was a gem!
Sharon was one of the most wonderful person I ever knew. We met at The University of California, San Diego Library in 1970 and hit it off immediately. She was a down to earth Kansas native with sophisticated interests. We shared a life time of laughs, adventures, and deep discussions on a wide range of topics which only Sharon could do justice. My condolences to Bill and Sharon's family and many, many friends.
