Steven Schilling's Obituary
Steven Michael Schilling, age 66 was born on Oct. 14, 1955, in Charles City, Iowa. He was the 6th of 12 children. His parents were Victor Leo Schilling and Lou Eva Meiners Schilling. He went to school Charles City High School and Miramar College and earned a degree in Fire Science and began a career as a firefighter driver operator. He retired in 2012 after working for 33 years. After retirement he was involved in the American Legion. He lived in Lake Elsinore, CA. And was married to Gloria Huerta on June 6th, 1989, in Chula Vista, Ca. Steven is survived by his wife Gloria, his 3 children Jared, Jasmine & Jane and his sisters Connie & Lori and brothers Greg, Jerry, Tom & Dan, and his close friends Jay McLeary & Mike McCraiken. He was a Christian. He served in the US navy from 6/10/74-6/10/78 on the USS Barbour County. He loved camping, hunting, fishing, and hiking. He also loved Mexican food. He was a responsible, kind, and funny man. He loved John Wayne and Clint Eastwood cowboy movies. He loved to go to Laughlin and enjoy life by the river and gamble.
Service held at Clairemont Mortuary on Sept. 29th from 9am – 1pm. Burial to follow at Miramar National Cemetery at 2:15pm
