I cannot believe this has happened. I am devastated.
In 2015 Tracy was hired on to be our nurse at Naval Hospital San Diego, to assist in what would be the first mesenchymal stem cell transplant in the military. The project was 1.5 years dragging and going nowhere, and I was worse than desperate.
Tracy was so positive. She knew exactly what she was doing. She was so organized, that this absent minded professor felt like oxygen had just arrived to a drowning man.
Literally 2 weeks after she came on board, she had single handedly gotten it going....we were on. A year later, the study was rolling and I credit it all to Tracy. I can truly say that Tracy changed my life.
Once I realized how great she was I told Tracy, in one year you will quit. She said she loved being at the Navy and asked why would she leave? I said that once everyone realizes how good you are, they will come running for your assistance....and you won't be getting paid as you should....and you'll realize you're doing everyone's work...so you'll leave.
But I made her promise not to leave until I leave, we leave together. Tracy was so positive, so wonderful. I would come home and thank god she had come to us.
Now, I'm so sorry to hear this news. But I treasure the time we had to speak of life....she loved her daughter so much. She spoke so fondly of Gary. We were a little team. Tracy, Susan, myself.
We made Navy History together. The Navy missed you, and I'll miss you more than I did already.
God rest your sweet soul in peace. My condolences to her family.
