Vivian Walworth Thomas' Obituary
Vivian Thomas, 90, died December 9, 2013 with her daughter, Sandra Pardoe, by her side. Born in Pueblo, Colorado, May 7, 1923 to Laurance and Vivian Walworth, Vivian spent her childhood years in Honolulu, Hawaii. It was there that she met her husband, Charles Stephen Thomas Jr. They were married on June 15, 1941.As a Navy Officer’s wife, Vivian and her family lived around the United States and for a brief time in China. Her love of travel extended throughout her life and took her and often family members around the world.Vivian enjoyed golf, bridge, and playing the piano. She attended All Saints Episcopal Church, where she often volunteered. Vivian loved to entertain, enjoyed cooking, and is remembered for her curry, which she made from scratch. She had a wonderful sense of humor and even with age-related changes in her health was able to laugh and think positively. She loved and was loved by many, and will be missed.Vivian is survived by her sister, Jean Schrader, of Kaneohe, HI, daughter, Sandra (Alfred) Pardoe, of San Diego; daughters-in-law Sherilyn (Terry) Morris and Carol Thomas (Jim) Vincent; six grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, her sons Charles Stephen “Steve” Thomas III and Richard Lee Thomas, and one great-grandchild.Mom, Grandma, “GG”: you and your wonderful smile will be missed.Memorial Service held on January 16 at 3:00pm at St. James by-the-Sea.
