Wilfredo C. "Eddie" Galingan's Obituary
Wilfredo C. “Eddie” Galingan, 80, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 21, 2017 at the VA La Jolla Hospital La Jolla. He was born on November 8, 1936 in Tayug Pangasinan, Philippines to Juan and Teodora Galingan. Eddie retired from the United States Navy after 35 years of service and received the following awards: National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, Vietnam Campaign Medal and Good Conduct Award (4th award).
Eddie is survived by his wife, Laila B. Bustamante, daughter Carolyn Dumas, grandson Anthony Dumas and a sister Felicidad Fontanilla in Honolulu Hawaii.
Viewing is on Thursday August 31, 2017, 3 pm to 9 pm at Clairemont Mortuary Chapel with the Rosary recited at 7:00 pm.
The funeral mass is on Friday at 10:00 am, September 1, 2017 at Holy Family Catholic Church on Coolidge St. Interment following at 12:30 pm Miramar National Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Glenner Memory Care Center, Alzheimer’s San Diego, Home Instead Senior Care, Harmony in-Home Care Services or the VA San Diego Healthcare System.
