When I married in to the Chambers family 34 years ago, I met Ellen. Ellen Sturtevant was a wonderful teacher–caring and nurturing and bright and collegial in every way. I recall her gentle way of being in the world, she always had a smile and a willingness to help in any way she could. Ellen was a remarkable woman with a ready smile and wonderful laugh. She was a good friend, a loving mother, and a wonderful wife. Everyone who knew her loved her. She will be missed, but I know she's keeping God entertained with her wit, intelligence, and charm.
