Freda Ann Bauer's Obituary
The children of Freda Bauer have entrusted Clairemont Mortuary to attend to the funeral of their beloved mother.
Freda Ann Bauer was born in Natoma, Kansas, in 1939 to Alfred and Rosa (Clark) Naylor, the second of six children. Her family were avid readers and sports fans, two passions that Freda retained throughout her life. She attended Natoma High School, where she participated in numerous activities and clubs, including Band, Glee Club, and the girls’ basketball team.
Upon graduation in 1957, Freda married Vernon Bauer, a Kansas native, and Korean War veteran, settling in the town of Russell, where she gave birth to her first-born son on her 19th birthday. After the birth of their second child, they moved to San Diego, where Freda remained the rest of her life. In addition to raising three children, she worked in the billing department, first at Clairemont Hospital, then at Mission Bay Hospital.
Freda took early retirement to care for her husband, who was battling cancer. Upon his passing, she devoted much of her time to her church, utilizing her interest in photography. She enjoyed numerous hobbies, such as sewing, knitting, and mosaics.
Freda is survived by her three children, Curt, Cary, and Janice, two granddaughters, Stephanie and Amanda, three great-grandchildren, Josiah, Raelynn, and Presley, and two sisters, Rosalie and Joan.
On March 26, 2025, this beautiful soul was called to rest in the eternal embrace of her loving Father in heaven. May her memory be a comfort and blessing in your day-to-day lives.
Freda was a curious, creative, positive, energetic, and family-oriented person. One of the best ways to honor her life is to emulate those qualities.
