James F Masterson's Obituary
Jim is survived by his wife of 50 years, Shiela, their daughter Kathleen, Eric (Gardner) and granddaughter Eva. He is also survived by his brother Brian (and Sandy) of North Tonawanda, Bill Byington of Niagara Falls, nieces, Lori Storch, Jodi Miller, Lisa Siegmann and several grand nieces and nephews.
Jim was born and raised in Niagara Falls New York. The second son of James F. Masterson Sr. and Helen Russell. He attended Niagara Falls High School. He lived there until he joined the US Navy and went to Vietnam.
Jim was very proud of his service to our great Nation. Upon his honorable discharge from the Navy he stayed in San Diego to raise his family and worked in the Aerospace Industry. Along the way Jim received an AA degree from Mesa College and also studied at SDSU. He retired from Northrop Grumman.
Jim loved baseball. If he wasn’t at a Padres game, he was watching it on television, with his all-time favorite team being the Toronto Blue Jays.
His memorial service will be at the Clairemont Mortuary on Saturday January 20th at noon. Reception is immediately following.
The family is asking that in lieu of flowers you make a donation to WoundedWarriorProject.org, DAV.org or the GarySiniseFoundation.org in Jim’s name.
