Jorge Montero Mez's Obituary
Jorge Montero Meza, 77, passed away on March 16, 2026 at Hillcrest Medical Center at UC San Diego Health in San Diego, California.
He was born on April 25, 1948 in Mata Espino Vera Cruz, Mexico to Felimon Montero and Cosme Meza. He worked in the hospitality industry as a Maintenance Technician for 15+ years at Hanalei Hotel and Seven Seas Best Western. Prior to that he spent his career as a landscaper and gardener.
He was a devoted widowed husband/ apa/ pops/ tata/ nino/tio/brother/compadre and friend to all he loved dearly. He will be remembered for his generosity, sense of humor, cooking, dancing, love of the casino, man of his word and being a big part of his community.
He is survived by his only son Jorge Montero Jr., daughter-in-law Shirley Montero, his 5 grand-children Jean, Jorge III, Jazzelle, Julian and Jiovanni Montero.
His step-daughters Maria, Sandra, Lisa, Martha, Rebecca and Monica and all his 20 step-grandchildren. His god-daughter Eva Ramos. Comadre and sister-in-law Rosie.
Lastly he is survived by his older sister Luciana Montero Meza. Brother-in-law Jose Segura Gonzalez. His niece Maria de Lourdes Segura Montero. His grand-nephew David Eduardo Santiago Segura and lastly is his nephew Jorge Segura Montero.
A Memorial service will be held on April 10, 2026 at Clairemont Mortuary from 4-8pm.
Mass will be held on April 25, 2026 at Holy Family Catholic Church from 11am-12n
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
