He also loved the beach, snorkel diving and times in Hawaii.
Over the last 30 years Mike became a regular and a legend among local inventors. He was known inside the inventor community for his truly astonishing and selfless endeavors. He loved to share cutting edge discoveries and technologies as much as he loved to surprise others with what was hiding behind his simple and unassuming persona. His incredible mind and colorful personality will be forever missed and remembered.

I’m at Lebo on a cruise ship sailing through the Panama Canal last year. We would meet in the afternoon for cocktails with a group of other like-minded people. Lebo was an inspiration and I learned so much from him. We had stayed in touch over the past few months and I was following his travels With great interest. RIP, my friend the world is a sadder place without you. You brought light and love into everything you did.
I first met Mike in 1978 at OAR Corp and stayed in touch with him over the years. Mike was promoted to engineer before he left OAR in 1979. I remember Mike as having a very creative mind and being able to "think out of the box". During the following years, I always enjoyed our correspondence and my visits. Mike will be missed.. I met Lebo 4 years ago. I was homeless and met them at a support group for the San Diego Community. We formed a friendship that grew into a special bond. Lebo mentored me, helped me with mathematics, & showed me how to achieve more than what I had in that present moment. They became my life coach, Sobriety sponsor, my cheerleader. Lebo helped start an Easter Egg drive for a Drug Rehab called “ Stepping Stone “, donated a lot of clothing to the less fortunate, helped raise money for the nonprofit organization The Imperial Court de San Diego.
We shared many days laughing and driving around in the Tesla “ adventures “ in their words.
Many loved how they approached life dancing with the younger generation, telling jokes & helping a group of ladies struggling with mental health by taking them on drives up the coast.
Their motto was “ Life is too short to sit around and allow time to pass by. We must live, laugh and Dance”
Whether they were on land or at sea traveling the world they always made time to attend Mass and Pray for every meal. This is one of the characteristics that made LEBO SHINE.
Lebo is MY FIRST FRIEND here in San Diego,Lebo is and always will be MY BEST FRIEND.
Lebo was a wonderful part of our 7 Am weekday mass. He will be missed.
