Mom's three children finally united. John, Diane & Norm. This was in Sep 2006 when we first met our older brother, John.
My dearest brother, John, And all of our lives are so much richer for that experience. Mom knew her baby boy was alright. She got to have a wonderful relationship with you for the past 9 1/2 yrs. I have a big brother to annoy the heck out of, and enjoy. And, my younger brother finally has that brother he always wanted. We are truly blessed.Love always,Sis

Among many fond memories of my mother one stands out. At the age of 63 I had been searching for my mother for over 50 years. I had sent an e-mail to the person who posted information about my birth and that person called me on a Tuesday evening in 2006. Her name was Diane, and after we had spoken for a few minutes Diane said, "John, I'm your sister." I literally could not speak for a few moments, as I had no idea that I had a sister. Diane told me that she lived outside San Diego (I was in Arizona), that I had a brother, Norm, and that "our mother" was alive and that she would visit her on Thursday and break the news to her that we had made contact. Now I couldn't speak and I couldn't see through my tears. On Thursday evening Diane called me from our mother's apartment and put her on the phone. My first question was "May I call you, "Mom?" Mom's response was, "Of course." My heart melted. We spoke for a while and then Diane came back on the phone and said, "John, Mom's crying." and in the background I heard my mother tearfully say, "My beautiful, beautiful baby boy is all right." Now my heart was in total meltdown, and I have treasured the memory of that first exchange ever since. – John Zimmerman
