Patricia Anne Cornelius' Obituary
PATRICIA ANNE CORNELIUS passed away peacefully on March 12, 2016. She was 91 yrs. old. She was born in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of Joseph A. Milne and Florence Bowden. She had three siblings, Dorothy Irene, Robert Andrew & Joan Esther who pre-deceased her.
Her early life was spent in Detroit, where she married Harry Norman Gould and had two children, a daughter and a son. Prior to that marriage she had another son, whom she selflessly gave up for adoption so he could have a better life than she could have provided.
In 1957 Patricia, her husband Norm and two children, Diane and Norm, moved to Pompano Beach, Florida where they lived for many years.
She later married Joseph “Ed” Cornelius and they lived in New Orleans, LA and Houston, TX. Ed died in 1981. Having no other family in Houston, Pat moved to San Diego, California to be near her son & daughter.
Pat loved to read. You would never see her without a book nearby. She had a great love of Egyptian history, crossword puzzles and all kinds of animals and she loved chili cooked by her son, Norm. She was a quiet and stoic woman who kept to herself. She also had a strong Christian faith and enjoyed reading her Bible, as well as trying to do the best she could to live it. She was a loving woman who would always do her best to help others at her own sacrifice.
A wonderful moment in her life was when she was reunited with her adopted son. They had 9 ½ years of memories they built together. He is a treasured older brother to her other two children.
Patricia is survived by her oldest son, John Zimmerman & his wife Judy of AZ, her daughter Diane Gould Hall & her husband, Ron of Ramona, CA., her youngest son, Norm Gould & his wife Melinda of Poway, CA., 7 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Interment at Evergreen Memorial Park, Wharton, TX
