Rodney Laird Ramsey's Obituary
Rodney L. Ramsey at the age of 73 passed away on July 14, 2013. He is survived by his wife Jan Ramsey, their 4 children, 5 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, as well as his beloved cat, Frosty. Rod was born in Los Angeles, California on September 12, 1939. He graduated from Whittier High School, received his Masters Degree from National University. He also served honorably in the U.S.A.F. He served his duty in England where he met his wife Jan in 1957. They moved to San Diego in 1974, where they raised their family. Rod worked for San Diego Data Processing as a Senior Analyst for 26 years. He enjoyed going to baseball games. He was involved in coaching his 2 sons in baseball. He was a former member of the Elks Lodge. Also, Rod had a passion for his GNX Grand National Sports Car. Rod and Jan enjoyed traveling in their retirement. There will be a church service at St. David’s Episcopal Church 5050 Milton St., San Diego, CA 92110. Service starts at 10:00 AM, reception to follow at 11:00 AM in mission hall, internment at Fort Rosecrans at 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. David’s Episcopal Church, In remembrance of Rod Ramsey. Please check out our website at www.clairemontmortuary.com.
